I expect Korea will eventually Finlandize. China is right next door and we, the US, are over the horizon and unreliable. Moreover, the US isn't all that liked by many in South Korea. I often think how silly it for us to think we could use South Korean territory to conduct operations against the PRC if they attack Taiwan. South Korea wouldn't agree to that, nor can you blame them.
