Though I am not fully aware of Chinese history, I can't conceive or think of a time of the Chinese ever having a hegemonic instinct in thoughts and actions, compared to western Europeans and the like, in their respective histories. Sure, there is a Chinese diaspora. But it is the result of inner Chinese reactions to largely western machination through time. Further, I think they, the Chinese with their newfound power of commerce will wield some global influence in many spheres of human activities, it will be nothing like that of the western Europeans, and their cohorts, over the past time frame. Different natures to say the least.

Yeah, that’s a point that I’m interested in - whether the “post-American order” is actually a different order or just a change in who’s driving ~ a trend towards a set of norms and practices distinct from British/American legalism and bureaucratic rationalism or just a different power or set of powers controlling through accepted British/American legalism and bureaucratic rationalism.

Ha!

Your last sentence is the meat of the matter. Because the western version has evolved into such weapon-grade rules regime, many will unload it and create a new or more human welfare centered version to survive and live a healthy and affordable existence. As the model noted, by you, lack these basic tenets, no one will even consider their input genuinely, especially, based on the destruction of earth and its life and inert material forms, in the last millennium or two, has had a very costly bill to pay, so to speak and, as such, the paradigm will be completely replaced, if humans are to survive.
